There will be something for everyone at the “Fifth Annual Ladysmith Day” celebration Saturday, May 14, along Library Boulevard at Clara Smith Street. The fun gets underway inLadysmithVillage on the Village Green, opposite Caroline County’s Ladysmith Library, which will be transformed into a festival from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. with craft and food vendors as well as the Ladysmith Volunteer Fire Department Classic Car Show and the Virginia Sports Park hosting a corn hole tournament. The free event will also feature moon bounce, pony rides and a petting zoo.
There will be food from cheese steaks and hot dogs to smoothies and kettle corn. This year the event will feature two very popular music artists.
Will Dailey is an acclaimed recording and performing artist, who is a three-time winner of the Boston Music Award for Best Singer/Songwriter. He has released two full-length albums through CBS Records and one on Universal Republic. His music has been featured on more than 50 TV programs and films. He has appeared on stage with Neil Young, Dave Matthews, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp at two of their Farm Aid concerts. Dailey is currently in the studio recording his new album.
Honky Tonk Heroes appeal to all age groups, playing classic and contemporary country and have opened for Willie Nelson, Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Chris Young and David Allan Coe. This is a a two-hands-on-the-steering-wheel, pedal-to-the-metal country party band.
