Officers with the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police have arrested two Ruther Glen men on cocaine charges.
Kevin Darnell Brown, 36, was charged with distributing cocaine and Norman Hergie Parker, 39, was charged with possessing cocaine and possessing cocaine while possessing a firearm – a Tec-9 submachine gun.
The arrests were announced Monday by Caroline Sheriff Tony Lippa.
The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from the Virginia State Police and sheriff’s offices in King George, Westmoreland and Spotsylvania counties, and officers obtained warrants to search three homes in the Ruther Glen area.
Early Friday they searched a home in the Caroline Pines subdivision and seized $500 worth of what is believed to be cocaine, $1,000 worth of what is believed to be marijuana, and over $2,000 in cash while arresting Brown, according to Lippa.
At the same time, a State Police tactical team searched a home on Ladysmith Road and seized what is believed to be cocaine manufacturing equipment, $2,000 in cash, $200 worth of what is believed to marijuana, and several firearms, including the submachine gun, while arresting Parker, Lippa reported.
Officers with the King George Sheriff’s Office searched a home on Sunshine School Road, and investigators seized what is believed to be cocaine and/or heroin manufacturing equipment and a laptop computer. No one was arrested in connection with the search.
The arrests and searches were part an undercover operation that lasted 18 months, said Lippa.
