LADYSMITH–Two northbound lanes on Interstate 95 will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night from Sunday through Thursday, Aug. 1 as crews pave the lanes in Caroline County, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Paving will be done from Exit 110 (Ladysmith Road) northward to mile marker 112, just south of the Ladysmith Rest Area. From Monday to Thursday, one lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.
To avoid delays, motorists may exit northbound I-95 at exit 104 (Route 207 at Carmel Church) and use Route 1 as an alternate route.
This road work will continue, weather permitting, on that stretch of I-95 through mid-October.
Other road work is in southern Caroline County on Route 600, Frog Level Road, where replacement of the Boot Swamp bridge is underway. Motorists will be restricted to one lane on the bridge. This project is scheduled for completion in about a year.
