Oliver H. Tacy, 88, of Bowling Green died Dec. 20, 2013 in Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in West Virginia, he had retired from the U.S. Army and then worked as a civil servant at Ft. A.P. Hill. His military service included tours of duty during World War II and during wars in Korea and Vietnam. He was a faithful member of Ambassador Baptist Church and was the widower of Anna Tacy.
Survivors include his children, Janice Fogle (Butch), Patricia Carter (Mike), Thomas Tacy (Lolita), Wanda Tobin (Joe) and Douglas Tacy; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Tacy.
A funeral service will be on Thursday, Dec. 26 at 2 p.m. in Ambassador Baptist Church, Woodford, with Pastor Mike McGee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service.
