Stolen car dumped in a Caroline County river

A 2006 Dodge Charger was stolen from Stafford and dumped in the Ni River Thursday night north of Bowling Green, the Caroline Count Sheriff’s Office reported.

The car, which has a Virginia license plate, had been reported stolen, said Major Scott Moser of the CCSO. Someone drove it to the river from Route 606 (Stonewall Jackson Road) and allowed it to roll into the water. The car was about two miles from the Stonewall Jackson Shrine.

All but the roof of the car was submerged in the river, Moser said. The case is under investigation, he added.
