Charles Hugh Carneal

Charles Hugh Carneal, 69, of Cumberland passed away Dec. 7, 2012 in Richmond.

Mr. Carneal, who was born in Caroline County to the late Allie Edwin and Elton Roseville Carter Carneal, worked as a car salesman and was the owner of Carneal Motors. He most recently worked as a salesman at Plaza Motors in Richmond.

He served in the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Carneal was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Miles Carneal; his children, Christopher and Amanda Carneal, Timmy Greve (Brenda), Sandi Robinson (Michael), David G. Landess II (Leslie), and Christopher D. Taylor (Emily); his brother, Edwin Carneal; and sisters, Bertie Kain, Frances Williams, and Ruby Bullock; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and many extended family as well as his church family. He was also loved very much by Mom Shirley and Papa John.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Horace W. Carneal, and his wife, Alice B. Carneal.

A funeral service was held Dec. 11 at New Life Assembly of God with interment at Ephesus Baptist Church cemetery in South Hill
