Charles Lee “Charlie” Duncan entered into eternal rest Feb. 4, 2013, at his home in Ruther Glen. He was 79.

Mr. Duncan was one of 15 children born to the late Mattie Coates Duncan and the Rev. James Duncan in Monroe, Louisiana.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted and loving wife, Lovely C. Duncan; nine children, Vera Jones (Rodger) and Deborah Dee of Lakeridge, Charles Jr. and Anthony (Aprille) of Triangle, James Kelvin (Yvonne) of Stafford, Keenan O. (Twanna) of Fredericksburg, Donald Keith of Ruther Glen, John E. (Margie) of Hanover, Shawn M. (Evelyn) of Forest Height, Md.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one godson; one brother, James Duncan of Los Angeles; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home in Bowling Green from noon to 8 p.m. Feb. 15 and one hour before the funeral service at Second Baptist Church in Ruther Glen on Feb. 16.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 16 at Second Baptist Church, 26725 Ruther Glen Road, with the Rev. Dr. Arthur N. Werts, pastor, delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
