FLARE will promote amateur radio in Caroline County Virgi nia and nearby counties of Essex\, King William\, King & Queen and Norther n Hanover that by their rural nature have limited access to the resources found in metropolitan areas. Licensed amateur radio operators and those as piring to become licensed will receive initial and ongoing education\, pee r support\, public advocacy and development of shared infrastructure radio systems. FLARE and its members will pursue the Federal Communications Com mission’s mandate for amateur radio: “…providing the nation with a pool of trained radio operators and technicians who can provide essential communi cations during emergencies”.
