Church Calendar, week of August 14

*St. James Baptist Church, Milford, Women’s Club Ministry is sponsoring a three-day, two-night trip to Lancaster, Pa. from Oct. 30 – Nov. 1. The trip includes breakfast, buffet dinner, tour, admission to “Moses” at the Sight and Sound Theater, shopping, and more. For more information or to reserve a seat, call (804) 633-7132.

*Bowling Green United Methodist Church is holding Wednesday Bible study from noon – 1 p.m. All are welcome to attend and bring a bag lunch to eat.

*Shiloh Baptist Church, 127 S. Main St., Bowling Green has changed its hours for Summer Worship Service. Sunday school now begins at 9 a.m. and regular worship service at 10 a.m. Bible Study is held on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., and Missionary meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m.

*Reedy Baptist Church is hosting Rev. Regina Winston from the Essex Village Community Church as the guest minister for the month of August. Bible study is at 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Sundays, and Sunday School is at 10:30 on the second and fourth Sundays. Worship services are at 11:30 a.m.

August 12-17

*St. James Baptist Church, Milford, is holding its Revival Services Aug. 12 – Aug. 14 beginning at 7:15 p.m. with prayer and praise. The Rev. Dr.  Ricardo L. Brown of Fifth Baptist Church, Richmond, will be the guest revivalist. Homecoming service will be held Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Charles F. Baugham, Sr., delivering the message followed by lunch. The colors are pink, white, and black. There will be no evening services.

August 17

*United Freedom Gospel Baptist Church, Dawn, is holding its Homecoming and Revival services at 11:30 a.m. Service will be led by Pastor Karl M. Bray.

August 17-20

*Oxford Mt. Zion Baptist Church will celebrate its 146th Homecoming & Revival service, Sunday, Aug. 17, through Wednesday, Aug. 20. Pastor Duane Fields will deliver the homecoming message at 11 a.m., followed by a meal. Afternoon fellowship service will start at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeffrey Reaves of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Petersburg. Join in Monday through Wednesday starting at 7 p.m.

August 17-22

*Jerusalem Baptist Church, Sparta, is holding its Homecoming and Revival Services at 11 a.m. Pastor Jared S. Beasley will deliver the message and JBC Combined Choirs will lead the music followed by a served lunch. Prayer and Praise will begin at 2:30 p.m. and evening worship at 3 p.m. led by the Rev. Earl Newsome & the St. Stevens Baptist Church. Revival services will begin Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. The Rev. Earl Newsome will lead each service.

*St. John Baptist Church is celebrating its 148th Homecoming and Revival Services beginning Sunday at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. with Pastor Dr. W.G. Berryman. The Rev. Dr. Alonza Lawrence of Moore Street Missionary Baptist Church will present the 2 p.m. service. Revival will begin Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Carroll Jackson of Macedonia Baptist Church, Woodford, then Aug. 21, The Rev. Marvin Fields of Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Hanover, and Aug. 22, The Rev. Jaimal Hayes of Abner Baptist Church, Glen Allen.

August 22, 29

*Beth’El Baptist Church, Bowling Green, will host Bishop James O. Smith, of Down To Earth Ministries Worship Center, Richmond, on Aug. 22 and Minister Chandra Atkins of First Baptist Church of Elmont, on Aug. 29 for two nights of restorative revival messages. Both services will begin at 7:30 p.m.

August 23

*True Deliverance Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, 17468 A.P. Hill Boulevard, Bowling Green, is sponsoring a chicken and fish fry from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Each meal includes Fish or Chicken, homemade macaroni and cheese, green beans, a corn muffin, or roll with dessert. August 24-29

*Third Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 9132 Fredericksburg Turnpike, Woodford, will celebrate its 133rd church anniversary, Homecoming and Revival service beginning Sunday, Aug. 24 with Pastor Antonio Baker preaching the spoken Word at 11 a.m. and The Reverend Roscoe Cooper, III, of Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Richmond, at the 3 p.m. service. Pastor Cooper will be the guest preacher for Revival services Wednesday, Aug. 27, through Friday, Aug. 29. Praise and worship will begin at 7 p.m. followed by the spoken Word at 7:30 p.m.

September 13

*Cardinal Baptist Church, 15050 Ruther Glen Rd, Ruther Glen, is hosting a Country Fest Gospel Sing and Fish Fry at 4 p.m. Music will be provided by One Lane Bridge as well as Keven Johnson and Augusta Blue from Luray, Virginia.
