Cheer us on to a victory

Attention Family and Friends from all across the county. On Thursday, October 19, the Lady Eagle basketball team of Caroline Middle School will host Locust Grove Middle School from Orange County, Virginia. We would be extremely excited to have you come and help cheer us on to a victory. We will also be recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing “PINK”.  A  jar will be set up at the door (ticket table) for anyone who would like to make a donation to the American Cancer Society.  So come and “Pink Out” with us! (wear something Pink)

All abuzz about bees

All abuzz about bees. Andrew Huffman, who specializes in bee hives and loves bees, will speak to the Port Royal Ruritans on Thursday, Oct. 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the PR Fire House. The program is free. At 7:15 the dinner ($10) and business meeting will occur. Call Bill Wick for reservations at 804-742-1218.

Red Cross Blood Drive

You may know that breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women, but did you know giving blood is a way to support those fighting cancer? During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the American Red Cross is encouraging the community to give blood for cancer patients and others who depend on transfusions. The Caroline Family YMCA will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on October 25 from 10 to 4 p.m. 17422 Library Boulevard. Please come out and donate!
