On Sept. 23 HPR will host special guest Faye Benjamin from 1:30-3:30 p.m. She is a Caroline author who will share her recent books. She is currently planning to write a mystery and another Civil War story. Her first Civil War novel, RIVER OF TEARS, was about her great-grandfather’s life and service in the 61st Virginia Infantry Regiment. A limited number of her books will be available for sale.

The Caroline County Garden Club will meet October 17, 11 a.m. at Wrights Chapel for the monthly business meeting. Members will bring bag lunches and will leave around 12:30 to tour Meadowview Biological, 8390 Fredericksburg Turnpike, in Woodford, VA 22580 for a walking tour learning about Virginia native plants.
