Caroline County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigators and deputies arrested two individuals suspected of supplying heroin to users in Caroline County on June 5.
Narcotics investigators reported obtaining information that two men from Richmond were staying at a hotel in Caroline County for the purpose of distributing heroin. Narcotics investigators conducted a two-day surveillance operation, which included purchases of what is suspected to be heroin by undercover investigators.
When the two men left the hotel during the early evening hours of June 5, narcotics investigators and deputies conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle the two men were traveling in.
The two suspects were identified as 33-year-old Deangilow Hill of Richmond and 30-year-old Garmill Smith of Richmond.
Hill and Smith were arrested and both were charged with two counts of distributing heroin, two counts of conspiracy to distribute heroin, one count of possessing heroin with the intent to distribute, and one count of conspiracy to possess heroin with the intent to distribute.
Both men are being held under no bond at the Pamunkey Regional Jail.
Investigators reported finding what is believed to be heroin during a search of Hill and Smith’s vehicle, with an approximate street value of $1500.
