The grand opening celebration for the new Ladysmith McDonald’s will be on Saturday, Dec. 21, starting at 11:30 a.m.
Events will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a Ronald McDonald Show at 12 p.m., as well as other activities throughout the day, according to Melissa Gordon Wright, senior manager, GolinHarris of Richmond, which handles public relations for the restaurant.
The restaurant is located immediately adjacent to Interstate 95 at the 110 interchange in Ladysmith, with Exxon located on the opposite side of State Route 639, which is Ladysmith Road.
The restaurant opened to customers on Oct. 30 at 12:01 a.m. The 80-seat restaurant is open 24 hours for inside dining and drive-thru service.
This is the third McDonald’s to open in Caroline County, and the first location in Caroline for owner/operator Craig Welburn, Jr. This will be Welburn’s eighth McDonald’s in Central Virginia. Most are in the Fredericksburg area. Welburn and his family live in Manassas.
Welburn donated $500 to Caroline County Emergency Services, and to the Caroline Family YMCA in July at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ladysmith location.
