The Friends of the Caroline Library is soliciting donations of items that may be sold at the organization’s upcoming annual auction to benefit the library system.
The annual dinner and auction is the major fund-raiser to benefit the Caroline Library system. Monies raised are used to buy books and pay for other expenses.
The Caroline Library is a nonprofit organization. It receives most of its funding from the county and state, but state and county funds were reduced by $35,000 in the current budget year compared to the previous fiscal year.
The annual dinner and auction will be held the evening of May 3 at the Bowling Green Event Hall (formerly called town hall). It will start with a wine reception at 5:30 p.m. to allow people to view items to be auctioned for sale. The dinner will be held at 6 p.m. followed by the auction at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the Bowling Green, Dawn, and Ladysmith branches of the library.
Items donated for the auction may be brought to the Bowling Green branch, located in the Community Services Center at 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford. Volunteers also are available to pick up donations of used goods.
