Mary L. Janish, 63, of Ruther Glen passed quietly into the arms of God on March 29, 2014 in Mary Washington Hospital, surrounded by her family.
She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and had retired after 10 years from Peumansend Creek Regional Jail. Prior to that, she had worked for G&H Pants Factory in Fredericksburg and also worked for the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office for 16 years.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Ruth Blake. Survivors include her husband, Wallace Janish; three children, Marcus Kulynych (Robin), Krystle Kulynych Cain and Amy Wilson (Mike); two sisters, Diane Moore (Vic) and Debra Merryman (Tim); two brothers, William “Mickey” Blake Jr. (Gloria) and Buford Blake (Cheryl); eight grandchildren, Connor Kulynych, Blair McMahan, Ayssa Cain, Tatum Cain, Landyn Fowler, Samantha Wilson, Steven Wilson and Christopher Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, April 1 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday evening. Pallbearers will be Pat Elsey, Mike Wilson, Scott Moser, Chris Shelton, Joel Kulynych, Conner Kulynych, Aaron Moore and James Matthews.
