Golden Corral Buffet & Grill will open its new restaurant in Carmel Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
It’s located at 23866 Rogers Clark Blvd., which is technically Ruther Glen because of the U.S. Post Office there. The new Golden Corral will bring approximately 100 new jobs to the community, which will include a mix of full-time and part-time employees—including management, wait staff, line servers, and kitchen staff. The new restaurant is 5,007 square feet in size and will seat 240 guests.
The new Golden Corral is unique in that it is located inside a Pilot Flying J Travel Center. Entrepreneur and owner Houston Odom, Jr., who is president of Golden Corral franchise group BOTH, Inc., said that this new restaurant offers all the great Golden Corral food but in a smaller and even more convenient package. “While our new Ruther Glen Golden Corral has a slightly smaller footprint than our average restaurant, we have specially configured our food bars to offer more than 100 items on our endless hot and cold buffets. I’d suggest that both travelers and locals we be well pleased with the end product. It’s all in the vein of one-stop shopping. Now you can fill up your car’s gas tank and enjoy a great, home-style meal—at a very affordable price—all in a single stop.”
Along with home-style buffet favorites such as pot roast, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and steamed vegetables, the new Ruther Glen Golden Corral will showcase Sirloin steak filets on its dinner buffet. It will also offer a variety of Asian dishes that are served on its Wok buffet, Italian dishes that are served on its Pizza buffet, and Mexican dishes that are served on its Hacienda buffet. In addition to the hot buffet items, the restaurant will feature a market-fresh salad bar, where guests may build their own salads from dozens of ingredients. Rounding out the buffet offering, a variety of cakes, pies, and homemade breads—including melt-in-your-mouth yeast rolls—will be baked fresh in-house and served on the Bakery Buffet. The new Ruther Glen Golden Corral will also showcase a premiere Dessert Buffet, including freshly-spun cotton candy and a trio of dessert fountains (chocolate, white chocolate, and caramel—that will flow all day, every day).
Besides its lunch and dinner buffets, the new Golden Corral will serve its Sunrise Breakfast Buffet daily from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Sunrise Breakfast Buffet will feature made-from-scratch omelets, along with waking-up favorites such as scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, French toast, fresh fruit, a variety of juices, donuts, and homemade biscuits.
Hours of operation for the new Ruther Glen Golden Corral will be 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. seven days a week.
Lunch will be served Monday – Friday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Dinner will be served Monday – Friday from 4 p.m. – close, and on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. – close.
As a complement to its every day family dining offering, the restaurant also has banquet facilities that will be available free of charge for groups and organizations in the area that choose to dine at Golden Corral.
Seniors who are ages 60 and over can enjoy Golden Corral’s Senior Early Bird Buffet—and a free beverage of their choice every Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for only $7.49. Additional Senior discounts apply for other meal periods.
The restaurant’s daily operations will be managed by BOTH Inc. Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Amir Sarshuri, Regional Vice President Bernice Edgerton, and General Manager Greg Bolden.
