He is the son of Raymond Goodall, Jr. and Marita Smithers of Carmel Church. He is a member of the James Farmer Scholars Program, the CHS Student Advisory Committee, Young Life, the Spanish Club, the JROTC, the National Beta Club, and the Sigma Beta Club. He has been captain of both the junior varsity and varsity football teams all four years as well as company commander of the JROTC program.
RayQuan has received the James Farmer Excellence in Leadership Award, the Outstanding Citizenship Award, the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps American Legion Award, and the United States Achievement Academy’s National Library and Media Award. RayQuan was also selected to be a House Page for the Virginia General Assembly under Delegate Chris Peace.
Active outside of school as well, RayQuan is a member of Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he is in the choir, on the usher board, president of the Revelations Ministry and is a junior missionary. This year he was also an AKA Sorority Debutante Cotillion Escort. He often volunteers his time in programs such as Community Day, traveling to sing and fellowship with the inmates of Peumansend Creek Regional Correctional Center, hosting the Senior Gala, and mentoring.
After graduating with honors, RayQuan plans to attend a four-year university and major in criminal justice and minor in psychology.
