Former resident in jail By Terry L. Norton, Staff Writer
After an investigation State Troopers have arrested a former Ruther Glen resident on charges of child sexual assault.
Following a two-month investigation, Trooper R.J. Davis issued a warrant for the arrest of Donald Satterwhite, 26, formerly of Ruther Glen. According to Sgt. Michele Forker, the Virginia State Police Fugitive Unit worked with the Washington State Police to find and return Satterwhite to Virginia.
According to Forker, U.S Marshalls arrested Satterwhite on or around Jan. 10.
"I talked to the State Police Fugitive Unit agents," Forker said. "They said Satterwhite waived extradition on Jan. 12."
Agents went to Tacoma, Washington to take custody of Satterwhite and escorted him to Pamunkey Regional Jail on Jan. 27.
Satterwhite is still in the regional jail awaiting trial for 16 charges involving at least two victims. Davis is still investigating the case, which could produce additional charges against the fugitive.
Incidents of the pending charges occurred in 2004 and include - 9 counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery against children, 4 charges of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, 2 charges of Forcible Sodomy, and 1 count of stalking.
Satterwhite's case will be heard in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on March 1.
