Teams to watch as the state draw nears
Class AA contenders and storylines
- Minnetonka enters as one of the top-ranked AA teams, riding a near-perfect season into the state field.
- Edina and Wayzata will arrive with recent history: Edina beat Wayzata in the sectional final, but the two split earlier meetings.
- Moorhead and Rosemount each closed their sectionals strong and are expected to be factors deep into March.

State tournament format, dates and where games will be played
The MSHSL state playoffs run March 4–7 across two venues. The field plays 22 games over four days.
- Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul hosts the bulk of the bracket games and both championship finals on March 7.
- 3M Arena at Mariucci in Minneapolis will stage six consolation contests across the weekend.
