CARMEL CHURCH—The driver of a minivan died in a Spotsylvania hospital after a head-on collision on Jericho Road in Caroline County on Wednesday afternoon. Travis M. Breeden, 25, of Partlow Road, Beaverdam was taken by helicopter to Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center where he died later from “serious life-threatening injuries” from the head-on collision with a pickup truck, according to the Virginia State Police (VSP). After two seasons at Caroline High School, head football coach Jeremiah Ross has resigned. When Ross came to Caroline two years ago, he was the school’s fourth football coach in five years. The previous coach, Gene Boley, stepped down after coming under fire from parents. Ross submitted his resignation last week and is looking around the area for other positions.
