Indoor track squads finish 1-2

The Caroline High School indoor track team hosted a meet with four other schools on Wednesday of last week, and the boys squad captured first place and the girls, second place.
In addition, the track team visited North Stafford High School to participate in an invitational meet with 13 other schools on Saturday. The boys captured third place, and the girls took fifth place.
In the home meet on Wednesday, DaQuan Pollard picked up three first place finishes in high jump, long jump and triple jump, and Duane Fields recorded three top-three finishes: first place in the 55-meter dash and third place each in long jump and triple jump.
Other top-three finishers included Alvester Coleman, second place in the 55-meter dash; Brent Harris, second place in shot put; Freddi Romero-Baker, second place in pole vault; Gerson Cruz, second place in 1,000-meter run; Cody Griesman, second place in 1,600-meter run; Michael Williams, second in 3,200-meter run; Sam Gotschalk, third place in 3,200-meter run.
The boys relay teams won second place in the 4×200, second place in the 4×800, and fourth in the 4×400.
For the girls, Jessica Toliver recorded four first place finishes in 55-meter dash, 300-meter dash, long jump, and triple-jump.
Courtney Didlake won first place in high jump and added a fourth place in long jump. Also, Lelia Bouldin won second place in the 500-meter dash, and Casey Pole won second place in pole vault. The girls relay team captured third place in the 4×200.
At the North Stafford Invitational Meet on Saturday, Pollard captured first place in high jump and second place in long jump and triple jump. He added fifth place in 55-meter dash and seventh place in 300-meter dash.
Bevontae Morris won first place in long jump and added fifth place in triple jump, and Romero-Baker won second place in pole vault. Other top 10 finishers included Chad Boxley, fourth place in shot put; Mahmoud Mwafy, fifth place in 300-meter dash; and Elon Harris, fifth place in 55-meter hurdles.
The boys relay team won second place in the 4×200, fifth place in the 4×800, and ninth place in the 4×400 and also 55-meter hurdles. Didlake won second place in high jump, and Casey Cole won third place in pole vault. The girls relay squad finished eighth in the 4×200.
