DOSWELL – The Virginia Home & Garden Show, slated for Jan. 14-15 at Meadow Event Park, will provide a welcome escape from the cold and a lively glimpse of spring, showcasing fabulous garden designs as well as numerous vendors, exhibits, celebrity appearances, and seminars.
New this year is the Techo-Bloc Mobile Showroom, an impressive creative display of stonework and designs inside a 700-square-foot trailer.
With the latest trends in home fashions and remodeling, attendees will have access to experts on kitchen and bath designs and décor, counter tops and cabinets, flooring and wall coverings, and windows and doors. New construction and remodeling company professionals will be available to answer questions and offer advice. Landscaping companies will present beautifully constructed gardens with elements including stonework and water features, as well as outdoor living spaces and sanctuaries that will inspire homeowners to make their dreams a reality.
After a standing room only appearance at last year’s show, Virginia’s favorite gardener, André Viette, will be back with more tips and ideas for garden lovers.
“With all the positive feedback we received from last year’s show, we are excited to announce the return of one of Virginia’s most prominent gardening experts,” said show manager Chris Grubbs.
A renowned horticulturist, owner of Viette’s Farm & Nursery in Fishersville, and a syndicated radio talk show host, Viette will present a talk on ‘Gardening With Little Or No Work’ at 2 p.m. Jan. 14 followed by a question and answer session.
Also back by popular demand will be ‘The Renegade Gardener,’ Don Engebretson, field editor for “Better Homes and Gardens” magazine and HGTV gardening expert. He will conduct seminars both days.
A Taste of Virginia returns to showcase crowd-pleasing delectable favorites from local businesses throughout the commonwealth.
“Each year we are amazed at how many great new things are presented by our vendors,” added Grubbs. “One of the things we are most excited about is the addition of an 18-wheeler mobile design center with pavers, interior and exterior stone veneer, edging options and retaining walls by Tech-Bloc.” This showroom on wheels is making its debut at the show. The Techo-Bloc Mobile Showroom is an incredibly large tractor-trailer filled with an amazing array of stonework and ideas for outdoor living.
The Virginia Home & Garden Show will be held 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 14 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 15.
Tickets are $8 for adults; children age 16 and under will be admitted free. Discounted tickets may be purchased for $5 online at www.VAHomeAndGardenShow.com. Active and retired military, police and EMS will be admitted free with a valid ID.
