The Caroline Sheriff’s Office is seeking a man wanted in connection with a domestic violence incident who fled after being pursued from Spotsylvania County.
John Thomas Lewis, 42, was charged in connection with a domestic violence incident that occurred in Caroline, according to Maj. Scott Moser.
Spotsylvania deputies began pursuing Lewis about 6:20 p.m. Thursday of last week, Moser reported. The chase ended when the driver crashed in a yard in Caroline. He fled on foot from Guinea Drive toward the railroad tracks.
Caroline and Spotsylvania deputies searched for nearly three hours but were unable to find the man.
Lewis, who served prison time for murder, is considered armed and dangerous, said Moser. Authorities are seeking citizen tips to determine his whereabouts.
Lewis was described as a black male, bald and weighing about 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark pants, a red t-shirt and a black hoodie.
Lewis was convicted of second-degree murder in Richmond in 1993 and sentenced to 21 years in prison.
Anyone who comes into contact with Lewis should be extremely cautious, according to authorities, and is asked to call 911 or the Caroline Sheriff’s Office at 804/633-5400.
