School Board to organize

BOWLING GREEN – The Caroline County School Board will hold an organizational meeting Thursday.
The board is expected to elect a chairman and vice chairman and set its schedule of 2012 meetings when it meets at 4 p.m. at the School Board office.
The board has been revamped. In the November elections, two incumbents were defeated, and two chose not to seek re-election. In addition, voters chose a representative from the county’s new Western Caroline District, which puts a sixth member on the board.
The changes brought about by the election leave only one incumbent on the board – chairman Mack Wright Jr., who represents the Reedy Church District. One new member, George Spaulding of Bowling Green, has served on the board in the past, however.
Joining Wright and Spaulding, who represents the Bowling Green District, are Shawn Kelley of the Madison District, Tinka Harris of the Port Royal District, Nancy Carson of the Mattaponi District, and Mary Anderson of the Western Caroline District.
