Caroline’s Promise would like to invite members of the community to participate in its ‘Valentines for Caroline’ fundraising campaign.
The nonprofit organization is seeking donations of $5 to honor a loved one. For the donation, Caroline’s Promise will mail a special Valentine’s Day card that lets them know of the donation given in their honor.
Donations go to support programs and services for children. Caroline’s Promise offers a variety of programs, including scholarships for higher education, camperships to help youth take advantage of activities outside of the county, and programs that offer mentors to youth, such as the DIVAS with Promise Mentoring Program for middle and high school girls.
Other services include safety training and gifts to new parents, and fun and educational activities for youths, such as Santa Socials, summer Reading and Nutrition Days, the Day of the Young Child Celebration, Treats in the Community, and Karate Summer Camp.
Caroline’s Promise also offers mini-grants to other organizations for projects or programs that may benefit children.
The deadline for the Valentines for Caroline campaign is Feb. 8. Order forms are available on the county’s website at www.co.caroline.va.us. Orders also may be placed by e-mailing director@carolinespromise.com or by calling Sarah Davis at (804) 916-9619.
