The Caroline County Republican Committee re-elected Jeff Sili as chairman.

Sili, who lives in Bowling Green and is serving his second term on the Board of Supervisors, received 125 votes and his challenger, Rick Womble, 25.

The election was held at the committee’s mass meeting on Thursday of last week. It was the largest mass meeting in committee history, according to Republican leaders.

Over the last decade, Sili has served as the local coordinator for the campaigns of a number of Republican candidates, including Gov. Bob McDonnell, Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, Rep. Rob Wittman, state Sen. Ryan McDougle, and Delegates Chris Peace, John Cox and Margaret Ransone.

Sili represents Caroline on the Fredericksburg Area Regional Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Board and serves as a liaison of the supervisors to the Board of Social Services and the department of parks and recreation. He also is active in numerous service organizations throughout the county.
