LADYSMITH – The Caroline County Chamber of Commerce installed new officers and board members for 2012.

Kim Napier of Woodford will lead the business organization as president this year. Napier, who owns an appraisal business, replaced Tana McDonald of Drainfield Solutions.

Napier and the other officers were installed at a meeting of the organization at the Ladysmith Village Clubhouse on Wednesday evening of last week.

The other officers are: vice president Cheryl Brooks, an agent for Farm Bureau; secretary Debbie Napier, an independent agent for Healthplus Insurance;  treasurer Mary Pitts, an agent for Pitts & Manns Realty.

The chamber also installed three new members of its board of directors: Joe Crombie, account manager for Old Dominion Environmental; Lesa Williams, State Fair of Virginia; and John Knapp, assistant vice president and branch manager for StellarOne.

After the business portion of the group’s meeting, chamber members heard from Tony Beasley of Bowling Green, former professional baseball player and tapped this season to be manager of the Syracuse Chiefs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

Beasley, 49, talked about growing up in Caroline, playing baseball in college, and his experiences as professional baseball player and manager.
