*The food pantry at Bowling Green United Methodist Church is open on the third Thursday of every month. Doors open at 5 p.m. for registration. Food will be distributed from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
*The Sidney E. King Art Center, located next to the Courthouse on Main St., Bowling Green, is open Wednesday – Saturday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Featuring 15 of King’s famous Civil War paintings that were once on display at local National Park battlefield sites showing scenes from the battles of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and the Wilderness. The Caroline Historical Society has a room at the Center, and there is a gallery of artwork for sale by Virginia artists.
*Turkey Shoot, located at Ladysmith Rescue Squad, will be every Friday night until Dec. 19 from 7-9 p.m.
*All You Can Eat Salt Herring Breakfast, sponsored by the Madison Ruritan Club, 18206 Timothy Lane, Ladysmith. Salt herring, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, fried apples, biscuits, juice, and coffee will be available. $8 from 6 – 8:30 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month. *Special Education Advisory Committee Meetings are scheduled at the CHS Library at 6 p.m. on Dec. 16, Jan. 20, Feb. 17, April 21, and May 19. The Family Fair will be March 14 at CMS from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
*Caroline Library Book Sale is running through December at the Ladysmith location as pre-holiday stock-up event. Hardcover books are two for $1; DVDs & audiobooks included.

*Annual Holly Ball from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. at The Bowling Green Town Hall featuring the band Pebble to Pearl. Co-sponsored by the Caroline Junior Women’s Club and Women of the Moose Caroline Chapter 2316. Call Cheryl Schwartz at (804) 448-1915 to reserve tickets.

*Buster’s Breakfast with Santa Clause at the Caroline County Moose Lodge from 7 – 10 a.m.
*The Band Ladyz & The Trampz will be playing at the Caroline County Moose Lodge from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m.
*Caroline Lifted Trucks and Team Camryn Car and Truck Show Fundraiser at Caroline High School. Registration will be from 10 – 11 a.m., and the show is from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vehicle entry is $10 and guest entry is $5. Guest parking will be free. There will be games, food, trophies, and more. All proceeds will go to Camryn for her battle with liver cancer.
December 14
*Spirit Day will be held on Sunday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Old Country Café in Bowling Green. Come out and support Bowling Green Elementary School PTA and enjoy some good country cooking.
December 16
*Caroline County Garden Club will meet at 11 a.m. at Wright’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Ladysmith. Members bring a covered dish for a Christmas luncheon and a $10 gift for the gift exchange. Dessert will be provided. Call (804) 366-1750 for more information.

*Children’s Art Classes at the Sidney E. King Art Center, Main St. Bowling Green. Local artist Patricia Jackson will be teaching a craft class from 10 – 11:30 a.m. and a painting class from 12 – 1:30 p.m. for ages 6 and up. Cost is $8 for the craft class and $15 for the painting class. Register by calling Town Hall at (804) 633-6212. Payment is due at beginning of class.
