The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office executed two search warrants and made three arrests March 18 as a result of a ten month long undercover drug investigation.
One of the search warrants was executed at a home in the Lake Land’or subdivision in Caroline County and the other search warrant was executed at an apartment complex in Henrico County.
The operation involved personnel from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office, the Henrico County Police Department and the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators reported that Jason Saunders, 28, of Glen Allen, was arrested at his place of work in Hanover County by Caroline and Hanover investigators at approximately 7 a.m. Meanwhile, Saunders’ girlfriend, Sherlene Fox, 28, of Glen Allen, was seen driving away from their Henrico apartment in an erratic manner, eventually reaching high rates of speed and swerving through traffic.
Caroline County Caroline deputies conducted a traffic stop of her vehicle and reported seizing approximately $100,000 worth of suspected marijuana from two duffel bags found inside the vehicle. Saunders’ infant child was in the rear passenger area of the vehicle, buckled in a child safety seat which was found upside down and wedged between the front and rear seats.
Fox was arrested and charged with felony child neglect, possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute and conspiracy to possess marijuana with the intent to distribute.
Jason Saunders was arrested and charged with two counts of possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute and conspiracy to possess marijuana with the intent to distribute.
Walter Saunders Jr. was arrested and charged with one count of distribution of marijuana.

Together we continue to make Caroline County a safer place to live, work and raise a family.”
