Bowling Green resident William Robert Somers, 35, has been arrested and charged with sexual assault against a woman at University of Mary Washington on Dec. 12. The alleged victim is a 24-year-old transgender woman from Fredericksburg. Somers is a former UMW police sergeant. Read more in the Dec. 24 issue of Caroline Progress.
