Caroline High School recognized its senior class athletes participating in fall sports on Friday, Oct. 28, prior to the last home football game of the season against the visiting Knights of Spotsylvania.

This year Senior Night in Milford was eventful, as the Cavaliers took the Knights down a peg to the tune of a 32-13 victory.

After its win against King William, Caroline head coach Antron Yates made the statement that Caroline was a running team, and they would grow as a running team. That was never truer than in the win over Spotsylvania. Both teams ran the ball Friday night, but Caroline was dominant.

Other than the opening drive of the game, in which the Knights were able to score after 15 plays, Spotsylvania was taken to task by a much improved Caroline defensive line that took up residence in Spotsy’s backfield while the secondary stuck close to the receivers sent out, which shut down the passing game.

On the other side of the ball, the Cavaliers pulled out more weapons on offense than the Knights could handle. Caroline quarterback Brindon Williams had his best game since he stepped in for the sidelined Talen Smith––running for 187 yards and two touchdowns.

Cavalier Gareth Coleman continued to burn the turf, accumulating 125 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Combined, Williams and Coleman averaged over nine yards per carry.
