*The food pantry at Bowling Green United Methodist Church is open on the third Thursday of every month. Doors open at 5 p.m. for registration. Food will be distributed from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

*All-You-Can-Eat Salt Herring Breakfast, sponsored by the Madison Ruritan Club, 18206 Timothy Lane, Ladysmith. Salt herring, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, fried apples, biscuits, juice, and coffee will be available. $8 from 6 – 8:30 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month. *Special Education Advisory Committee Meetings are scheduled at the CHS Library at 6 p.m. on Feb. 17, April 21, and May 19. The Family Fair will be March 14 at CMS from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

*Port Royal American History Museum is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., 506 Main Street, Port Royal. Walk-ins are welcome, as well as scheduling for special occasions. Visit the website at historicportroyal.com or call (804) 742-5406.

*A Turkey Shoot will take place at the Ladysmith Rescue Squad every Friday night from 7 to 9.

February 26

*STA Title & Escrow is sponsoring the Ins & Outs of the new Closing Disclosure from 10 a.m. – noon at the Bowling Green Town Hall. The cost of attendance is $15 for members and $25 for non-members. Registration is required.

February 27

*Tappahannock Artists Guild announces that the opening reception for its upcoming show “Rappahannock River Reflections,” featuring the work of water colorist Frank Rixey and photographer Bill Portlock, will be held from, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gallery, 200 Prince Street.  The public is cordially invited to attend.

February 27-28, March 1

*Fredericksburg RV Show at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center. Friday the 27th from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday the 28th from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Adults at the door $10, online $9; seniors at the door $9, online $8; kids 12 and younger are free.

February 28

*Aikido Black Belt Tests will be held from 11 a.m. to noon at the Aikido in Fredericksburg, 6155 Hickory Ridge Rd, Spotsylvania. Candidates for black belts will demonstrate the effective, yet non-violent martial art of Aikido. This event is free. For more information, call (540) 582-9600.

*The Caroline Moose Lodge will host a dance with music by Ladyz and the Trampz from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., open to the public.

March 2

*Caroline County Little League Spirit Night is at Pino’s from 4:30 to close. Registration will be 6 to 8 p.m.

*Calvary Baptist Church will host United Daughters of the Confederacy, Caroline Grays Chapter; at 6:30 p.m. Miss Angie Smith will present “The Dresses Southern Women Wore.” (804) 633-6530.

*Caroline County Little League Spirit Night is at Giuseppe’s 4 p.m. to close. Registration will be 4 to 8 p.m.

March 7

*The Reedy Church Ruritan Club Variety Show scheduled for this evening has been cancelled.

March 14

*The 11th Annual Family Fair will take place at Caroline Middle School from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This is a free event, free lunch, door prizes, and free child supervision for those who participate. *The Sidney E. King Arts Center will host Civil War historian Eric J. Mink for a lecture at 2 p.m.

*Team Camryn Spirit Night at Giuseppe’s from 4 p.m. to close.

*2015 VA Homeschoolers Conference and Resource Fair at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Rd, Glen Allen, beginning Friday, March 20, at 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. The event will continue Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The featured speaker will be Carlita Boyles of Math on the Level. April 18

*Team Camryn Truck Show sponsored by Caroline Lifted Trucks at Caroline County High School. Registration will be from 10-11:30 a.m. and the show will start at noon. Show entry is $15, guest entry $5 with free parking. There will be food, vendors, games, DJ, and trophies.

April 24

*The Garden Club of the Middle Peninsula presents the 18th Century Charm and Coastal Splendor of Essex County tour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds from the tour support the mission of the Garden Club of Virginia. Advance tickets are $25 per person. Send check payable to the Garden Club of the Middle Peninsula along with a self-addressed legal-sized envelope to Kelly Gwathmey, 6357 W.
