*The food pantry at Bowling Green United Methodist Church is open on the third Thursday of every month. Doors open at 5 p.m. for registration. Food will be distributed from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
*The Sidney E. King Art Center, located next to the Courthouse on Main St., Bowling Green, is open Wednesday – Saturday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., featuring 15 of King’s famous Civil War paintings that were once on display at local National Park battlefield sites showing scenes from the battles of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and the Wilderness. The Caroline Historical Society has a room at the Center, and there is a gallery of artwork for sale by Virginia artists.
*All-You-Can-Eat Salt Herring Breakfast, sponsored by the Madison Ruritan Club, 18206 Timothy Lane, Ladysmith. Salt herring, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, fried apples, biscuits, juice, and coffee will be available. $8 from 6 – 8:30 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month. *Special Education Advisory Committee Meetings are scheduled at the CHS Library at 6 p.m. on Jan. 20, Feb. 17, April 21, and May 19. The Family Fair will be March 14 at CMS from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

*The Caroline County Branch of the NAACP will be hosting a Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Dawn beginning at 4 p.m.

*Caroline County Garden Club will meet at 11 a.m. at Wright’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Ladysmith. Michael Broaddus of the Virginia Extension Office will be the guest speaker.
