The second annual K95 CountryFest at the Meadow will deliver a full afternoon and evening of summer fun and country music June 20 at the Meadow Event Park in Caroline County. The music lineup will feature the Charlie Daniels Band, The Swon Brothers and Drake White & The Big Fire. Returning this year are the popular CountryFest Cornhole Tournament for cash prizes and the CountryFest playground with interactive and competitive amusements. Festival-goers also will have opportunities to shop and enjoy many of their favorite summer foods and beverages.
New this year will be a demolition derby in the Meadow’s Thrill Pit, presented by Shelton Farm Motorsports.
Gates will open at 2 p.m., and music will begin at 3. A full schedule, event details and advance tickets are available at K95CountryFest.com. Details also are available on the festival’s Facebook page.
The Charlie Daniels Band scored its first hit with the single “Uneasy Rider” in 1972 and has since populated radio with such classics songs as “Long Haired Country Boy,” “The South’s Gonna Do It Again,” “In America” and their Grammy-winning hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” The Swon Brothers, Zach and Colton, gained national attention as standouts on NBC’s “The Voice” and released the singles “Later On” in 2013 and “Pray for You” in 2014. Drake White, who released his first single, “Simple Life,” in 2013 and a second single, “It Feels Good,” earlier this year, was named one of Billboard magazine’s 10 Hot Country Artists to Watch in 2015.
Also slated to perform is the popular Richmond-based Cedar Creek.
Adult general admission is $25 in advance through June 19, and $35 at the gate. It includes parking, all concert performances and the demolition derby.
