A Henrico man was killed Sunday, Aug. 9, in a two-vehicle crash in Caroline County. The crash occurred at 3:10 p.m. on Route 1 southbound (Jefferson Davis Highway) at the intersection of Route 712 (Green Road).
Virginia State Police Trooper M.C. Hite investigated the crash.
A 2005 Chrysler minivan was stopped on Route 1 southbound making a left turn onto Route 712 (Green Road) when it was struck in the rear by a 2006 Honda motorcycle.
The driver of the minivan, Phillip J. Coleman, 63, of Caroline County was not injured in the crash. He was wearing a seatbelt. The operator of the motorcycle, Michael B. Gabriele, 68, of Henrico County was transported to MCV Hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the crash. He was wearing a helmet.
There are no charges in the crash.
