Heroin bust in Ladysmith

During the early morning hours of June 14 the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Special Emergency Response Team, CCSO deputies, CCSO investigators, members of the Stafford  County Sheriff’s Office, the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration, executed a search warrant at a home in the Pendleton subdivision, in the Ladysmith area of Caroline County.

The search warrant was obtained by CCSO investigators after a 5 month long heroin distribution investigation which led them to the home in the Pendleton subdivision.

Caroline investigators discovered their investigation was linked to an ongoing investigation being conducted by Stafford County Sheriff’s Office detectives.

Through a joint law enforcement effort, 39 year old, Samuel L. Williams of Ruther Glen was arrested and charged with one count of third or subsequent offense of distributing heroin with the intent to distribute, one count of third or subsequent offense of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, and one count ofassault on a law enforcement officer. He is being held at the Pamunkey Regional Jail under no bond.As a result of the search warrant, investigators seized what is believed to be heroin and cocaine, with a combined estimated street value of $7,000.00, digital weight scales, various documents, numerous cellular telephones, two vehicles, and over $70,000.00 in U.S. Currency.
