FLARE will promote amateur radio in Caroline County Virginia and nearby counties of Essex, King William, King & Queen and Northern Hanover that by their rural nature have limited access to the resources found in metropolitan areas. Licensed amateur radio operators and those aspiring to become licensed will receive initial and ongoing education, peer support, public advocacy and development of shared infrastructure radio systems. FLARE and its members will pursue the Federal Communications Commission’s mandate for amateur radio: “…providing the nation with a pool of trained radio operators and technicians who can provide essential communications during emergencies”.

*Caroline Cancer Support Group will meet the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at Carmel Baptist Church. The church is located at the corner of Rt. 1 and Rt. 207. This meeting is for all cancer survivors, patients, and caregivers. If you have any questions or are interested buy unable to attend, please contact Marcia Hayes at 448-3199.
