More than 75 yard sales will take place in Caroline County this Saturday during the Longest Yard Sale.

May 17, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., yard sales will be held in four different residential communities and at a former elementary school location.

Those communities are: Caroline Pines, Ladysmith Village, Lake Caroline, and Lake Land ‘Or. The Old Ladysmith Elementary School located on Ladysmith Road (Route 639) will be the location for the Humane Society of Caroline’s fundraiser yard sale.

The Longest Yard Sale project is the result of several months of planning by representatives of the various residential areas.

Participants within the communities are encouraged to host yard sales at a central location or at individual homes. Shoppers will be provided a map of all the registered yard sales as they enter the various areas, as well as directions to the next participating neighborhood. At Lake Caroline, shoppers will find food available at the Club House facility.

“With over 75 yard sales already registered, shoppers should come to Caroline County expecting to find everything from one-of-a-kind unusual treasures to common everyday items. Many of our participants have been anticipating this event to clean out their closets! Remember—the Longest Yard Sale covers over 30 miles in the county. It is going to be a great day,” said Vicki Greer, an organizing member from the Lake Land’ Or community.
