The best thing about the annual Ladysmith Day festival is the entertainment and this year two of the area’s best bands are featured.

Patsy & the Country Classics is a traditional country music band.  Made up of seasoned musicians who love playing country music, Patsy & the Country Classics has filled a niche in the traditional country music genre.  The band offers a Patsy Cline Tribute, which interweaves other female country artists that were influenced by Patsy Cline and tells her story.  We have had the privilege to have opened for traditional country music artists such as David Frizzell and Ronnie McDowell.

Patsy & the Country Classics consists of Patsy Hockaday, lead vocals and backup vocals; Bobby Edenton, Steel Guitar and vocals; Donald Hockaday, bass and vocals; Michael Hockaday, drums and lead vocals; Billy Rupprecht, keyboard; and Jeff Wadford, lead guitar and vocals.

Patsy is also a former Ms. Sr. America.

The Real Deal Band and Show consists of talented musicians and vocalists some have performed with national recording artists.  The band plays a variety consisting of R&B,Motown,Top 40, Light Rock, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Go-Go, and Beach Music.

The band will keep the audience entertained from the moment it  hits its first note until the moment that it ends the show. Whether  performing a choreographed stage show or playing to a dance crowd, The

Real Deal Band is one of the most versatile groups in the Northern  Virginia area.

Ladysmith Day is a fun, family oriented festival now in its ninth year and admission is free as are many of the things for the kids like face painting, pony rides, moon bounce petting zoo and kids craft zone.

Ladysmith Day is Saturday, May 20 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information go to Ladysmith Day on Facebook.
