Evelyn Noel Hawkins, 90, of Fredericksburg went to be with her Lord peacefully Friday, May 8, 2015. Born Oct. 4, 1924, in Bowling Green, Va., she was the daughter of John Henry and Alice Noel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis D. Hawkins, Sr. and her son, Lewis D. Hawkins, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Deborah “Suzy” Fell and her niece who was like a second daughter, Joyce Anne Hamrick. Always gracious and graceful, Evelyn was a professional in the legal field for over 30 years, took college courses from the University of Mary Washington, and taught Sunday School faithfully over the years. Additionally, she shared her love of English by volunteering as a tutor to help Spanish-speaking individuals in the Fredericksburg area learn to speak and read the English language more effectively. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Rev. Richard Headley officiated. The family received friends prior to the service. David Stephen Wilkinson of Lake Land ‘Or died on May 12, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Anderson; and his son, Shawn Gunther Wilkinson, and his wife Frances and their daughters Susan and Harper Wilkinson. He also had four stepchildren, Gail Calvert Raper and her husband John, and children Alexandra and Abigail Raper; Gary Steven Calvert II and his wife Letha; Christopher Lewis Calvert and his wife Letitia and their children William and Hayden Calvert; and John F. Anderson and his wife Debbie and children Robert and Thomas Anderson; one brother, Raymond Craig Wilkinson, and his wife Marilyn. Steve Wilkinson was very active in the Lake Land ‘Or community and a member of the property owners’ Board of Directors. He was a retired contractor and a trusted construction consultant. He was a doting grandfather with a sense of humor and an infectious smile. As a grateful thank you for their assistance and professionalism, memorials may be made to Caroline County Department of Fire and Rescue in lieu of flowers. The family will host a Celebration of Life in his honor at a later time.
Robert Edward Williams, Sr., 66, of Ruther Glen died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at his home.
He was a surveyor in the construction business and attended Wright’s Chapel UMC.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Ann Williams; his mother, Lillian Stone Williams; a son, Robert Williams, Jr.; two step-sons, Bill and Tom West; a brother, Frederick Williams; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, with the Rev. Charles Tillapaugh officiating.
