RichardMillsRichard E. Mills, 76, of Bowling Green died Tuesday, Jan. 13, in Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.

Richard had retired from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative as a District Manager after 43 years. He then went back to work at the Co-op as a temporary employee for 11 more years, giving him 54 years of total service. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge and a former member of the Bowling Green Vol. Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He also was a member of the Orange Virginia Chapter of the Harley Owner’s Group.

Survivors include his wife of almost 54 years, Margaret Mills; four daughters, Robin Zimmerman (Stan), Sherry Weyant (Richard), Jacqueline Wright (James “Bo”) and Michelle Feiffer (Shawn); a sister, Sharnette Ryckman (Melvin); two brothers, Wayne Mills (Brenda) and Kenneth Lee Mills (Pam); seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Susie Mills and a son, Craig Allen Mills.

The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Sunday Jan. 18, from 6 – 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. in Bowling Green Baptist Church, with entombment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fredericksburg.
