There is something for everyone at the 13th annual RivahFest in Tappahannock on Saturday, June 20. No one will be going home from the festival without having sampled and experienced one or more of the show-stopping entertainment and musical features. This year’s lineup is sure to impress!
On the Main Stage at the cross-section of Water Lane and Prince Street, the tradition of great music at RivahFest continues, and best of all – it’s free of charge to festival-goers. A top priority when exploring new talent is to find bands that energize an audience and appeal to a wide range of ages and tastes. Chris Quann, guitarist with Southern Tide band, has been sampling live concerts up and down the East Coast to secure the best music for the RivahFest crowd. These bands have a long history of high-quality performances and the RivahFest Entertainment Committee is proud to bring music that will be both popular and pleasing. “I am really looking forward to this year’s lineup – the music is going to be second to none!” said Quann, who is the board liaison for entertainment.
To kick off the afternoon session, the Pat Russell Band will take the stage at noon. The Pat Russell Band utilizes some of the area’s best talent and has established itself as one of the top local live music acts in Richmond and Central Virginia, playing hundreds of gigs and opening for national acts such as Randy Travis, Eric Church, Marty Stuart and Kristian Bush of Sugarland.
The headliner for the evening is the North Tower Band from Raleigh, N.C., who is scheduled to play from 3:30 p.m. until the close of the festival at 7:30 p.m.
Stage Two on St Margaret’s School campus, offers a different musical beat with gospel music bands from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
