The Bowling Green Arts Commission will kick off its third season of Music on the Green summer concerts at 6:30 p.m., Friday, July 24, with the Fifth Street Jazz, a traditional big band sound.

All concerts are free and take place on the Caroline Courthouse/Arts Center lawn on Main Street.

Attendees are urged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Although there may be a food vendor on site, it is also suggested that local restaurants be patronized, according to BGAC president Robyn Sieg.

The other concerts will feature the Wild at Heart Band (Blues, Classical Rock), July 31, Nelson Braswell of Velvet Lies (Country, Rock, Acoustical), Aug. 7; Brianna Lauren (Country Acoustical), Aug. 14; the always-popular Milford Station (Bluegrass), Aug. 21; and the Antonio Parker Quartet (Modern Jazz), Aug. 28.

“We always wait until the Caroline County Agricultural Fair is over to start the six-concert series. It is a great opportunity for folks to eat and enjoy good music,” Sieg said.

“Jay Johnson of Union Station in Bowling Green rounds up the musicians. He has done so much for our community and helps keep the town alive,” she added.
