Update: Domestic shooting: two adults dead, two children hospitalized
A shooting in Caroline County Friday night left two people dead and two children hospitalized in what appears to be a domestic incident, according to investigators.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 29, Caroline County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a shooting occurred at a residence in the 14000 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy., located in the northern part of the county. Several CCSO deputies and investigators, along with fire and rescue units, responded within minutes. The Virginia State Police also responded.
Two adults, 42-year-old Andre Gray and 42-year-old Tina Gray, were found dead in the home. Two surviving family members, one 18-year-old female and a seven-year-old male, were transported to Mary Washington Hospital, where they were originally listed in stable, but critical condition.
The female underwent surgery Monday, Feb. 1 to remove a bullet. She remains in stable, but critical condition. The male is now in stable condition.
“This investigation is ongoing,” said Sheriff Tony Lippa. “No further information will be released at this time. Please keep the Gray family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
