Quake exacerbated roof leaks at CHS, CMS

Caroline County Public School officials are still in the process of having school facilities inspected for damage caused by the earthquake in August.

The roofs of two school buildings leaked during recent heavy rain brought by Tropical Storm Lee, assistant superintendent Eric Cunningham and maintenance supervisor George Gagnon reported to the School Board at its regular meeting on Monday of last week.

Several leaks were discovered at Caroline High School and Caroline Middle School, Cunningham said. Damage caused by the earthquake may have exacerbated some existing leaks, he explained later.
